Heyy Winers! Nothing says grown and sexy like a bottle of wine and the snack(s) of your choice. Weather it’s a solo movie night, girls night in or a simple date night, you can never go wrong with a wine and snack sesh. Join me as break down all the wine and snack combos you need to try!
Riesling & Honey Wheat Pretzel Twists:
This combo is perfect for movie night or gossip with the girls. A crisp dry or sweet Riesling perfectly complements the saltiness of the pretzel twists while the honey wheat adds another tinge of sweetness to this perfect pairing.
Tempranillo & Honey BBQ Lays:
This combo represents the perfect intersection of sweet and tangy. The sweet mesquite taste of the lays perfectly compliments the herbal and spicy notes of a south American Tempranillo. Also pairs very well with Beaujolias [based on Gamay].
Unoaked Chardonnay & White Chocolate Pretzels:
This combo is sure to satisfy those who love a dry wine and a sweet treat. The dry, crisp palette of a unoaked chardonnay lends a perfect complement to the sweetness of the white chocolate and a pinch of saltiness from the pretzel really puts this pairing over the top.
Sauvignon Blanc & Goldfish:
While it may seem childish, you are never too old for the snack that smiles back. This combo blends grown up with childhood memories. The bone dry palette of Sauvignon Blanc is complemented by the slightly salty content of everyone's favorite Chilean sea bass themed snack.
Valpolicella Ripasso & Cheesecake:
A much more specific pairing, this combo will appease the palette of those who love a bold wine with a dessert to match. Valpolicella Ripasso is made by using the dried grape skins from grapes used to make Amarone during the maceration of the wine. This lends a much deeper color and concentrated palette with hints of raisins and chocolate. Add the cheesecake of your choice and watch your night take the best turn possible.
Sauternes & French Vanilla Ice Cream:
A notorious subregion of Graves located on the left bank of Bordeaux, France, Sauternes produces dessert wines based on a blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Muscadelle. The luscious sweetness of this wine makes it the perfect partner to a rich and creamy treat like French vanilla ice cream.
There you have it! No matter the occasion, Wine and a little munch will always be a hit.
