Heyyy Winers! I don't know about you guys, but the weather is warming up and I am so ready for spring time so you know what that means. It means it is time for new wine recommendations. So, here are four wines that I highly recommend you sip on with your friends, your families and your besties this spring.
Vhino Verde - Portugal
First out the gate is a beautiful white wine hailing from Portugal that is going to be Vhino Verde. Vhino Verde translates loosely to green wine and is a beautiful white blend from Portugal made primarily with alvarinho, which is similar to Albarino which is made in Spain. Also blended with Arinto and a few other varietals that are permitted in the area, this is a beautiful, crisp, slightly effervescent wine that is perfect for sitting with the girlies.
Soave - Italy
Your next recommendation comes from the list of my favorite wines at the moment and that is Soave. Soave Classico, made in the Veneto region found on the northern Adriatic coast of Italy, is made with Garganega and is an absolutely stunning, crisp easy sipping white wine that if you love Pinot Grigio, Pinot Gris or Pinot Blanc, you will absolutely enjoy this spring.
Albarino
Your third recommendation is going to hail from Spain. It's going to be Albarino. The best examples are going to hail from Rias Baixas, which is in north western Spain, although there are other examples from around the world. This one is typically going to be 100% Albarino, although it doesn't always have to be. Either way, it's going to drink beautifully with a bright crisp acidity that you're going to absolutely love to sip during whatever activities you choose to do this spring.
Txakolina - Spain
Your final recommendation is a stunning white wine, although if you see it on a wine list you may have just a little bit of trouble pronouncing it, and that is Txakolina (chuck-O-leen-ah). Txakolina hails from Basque country, also in Spain. Typically based on Hondurabb Zuri, although it can be made from other permitted grape varietals in the area. This is going to be beautifully crisp and very easy to sip on with a little bit of effervescence on the back end. It is also available in a rosé version for the folks who like a rosé for springtime.
All right Winers, those are my top picks for spring sipping wines. I hope you find something that you can enjoy with your friends and family this season and stay tuned for what's up next with pool party pleasers and all the wines for baby showers, bridal parties, and birthdays until then… happy sipping!
